Teen Gothic

Hi friends! Me, my partner, and two friends are planning to visit Chicago in April and I'd love for us to go clubbing one night of our trip!

We're planning to be there from Thursday night to Monday morning, so anything that's hosted on a Friday or a Saturday would be ideal.

My partner and I have been to two goth clubbing events in the past, so we have a tiny bit of experience in the scene. But the friends we're going with are virgins, albeit excited and open to anything!

So, what goth clubs still exist in Chicago? What would be your advice?

Looking for songs that deserve attention, but were relegated to b-sides.

On the Wire seems like it could have been a single. Better than Body and Soul for sure; competing with Walk Away or No Time To Cry. Deserved the album regardless.

Like for actual babies. I have self appointed myself as my niece’s fairy gothmother. I have shared some of my more age appropriate favorites with her but wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations.

I was trying to explain 80s and Goth to a friend; that is not all doom and gloom but often very hectic or claustrophobic. I'm trying to give her 5 out 6 album recommendations of the quintessential 5 or 6 Goth albums. My list so far is:

Virgin Prunes – If I Die I Die Bauhaus – Press the Eject and Give Me the Tape Fields of the Nephilim – Earth Inferno Siouxsie and the Banshees – JuJu (or Hyaena?) Xmal Deutschland – Tocsin Danielle Dax – Inky Bloaters

I'd love to hear other people's top 5 or 6 albums.

What are y’alls recommendations for good beginner bands to get into more goth music. I’ve been debating whether of not to get more into goth music and fashion for a while but I wanna finally just dive into it but I’m not sure where to start truly getting into it.

if anyone was wondering this was the december 13th 2022 london concert in wembley, i had standing tickets but i was pretty far back because i was kind of late haha! it was brilliant, i will admit the crowd wasn’t the best but i still had so much fun finally seeing the band i have loved for years!

They are perfect. Every single second of their music are astonishing, their albums are just unbelievable good, from starts to finish. Nothing on the scene of goth compares with them, and perhaps, they'll be the most relevant band during the future years.

What US cities have the best goth and industrial communities?

I can’t recommend “I Saw Nothing Good So I Left” By Bragolin enough. Definitely check them out on YouTube or Spotify. Wherever you can find the album.
